An intermediate specialized committee for grades 9–12 and university students. Debate reproductive autonomy standards and universal childcare as a human right with 20 delegate seats and 2 chairs.
About this committee
UN Women is one of ten committees at SEAMUN I, a student-led, non-profit Model UN conference focused on global healthcare and sustainability. 100% of surplus is donated to the Thai Red Cross Society.
What is UN Women?
The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women is the UN’s global champion for women and girls. At SEAMUN I, delegates negotiate international standards on reproductive autonomy and policies that treat universal childcare as fundamental to gender equality and the workforce.

The Question of Affirming and Guaranteeing Women's Reproductive Autonomy by Establishing International Legal Standards on Access to Safe and Legal Abortion
IntermediateDelegates examine how international legal standards can affirm reproductive autonomy— balancing access to safe and legal abortion with respect for cultural and religious diversity. Research position papers and follow procedure once the chair report and ROP are published.
The Question of Examining the Recognition of Universal Childcare as a Fundamental Human Right and its Role in Addressing Declining Birth Rates
IntermediateDebate whether universal childcare should be recognized as a fundamental human right— and how that recognition relates to declining birth rates and gender equality in the workforce.
